Guthridge Hall is a former apartment building converted to a co-ed student residence hosting 254 upperclassmen on eight residential floors with a basement. Rooms are single sex while floors are co-ed. Each apartment was outdated and fully furnished with private bathrooms and cooking facilities. Room types include singles, doubles, and quads.
Phase 1: Bathroom Upgrades focused within confined limitations, new plumbing risers, interior door replacement with tap access, new flooring on the Basement level, foundation waterproofing, interior corridor lighting, window blinds, new finishes, and selective waterproofing.
Phase 2: Window Replacement was a "summer blitz" project to replace exterior fenestration. WDG performed a site survey and documented and produced the drawings of the exterior elevations.
Phase 3: The University's intent to maximize the bed count by eliminating apartment style kitchens from the prior apartment building purchase. The scope consists of eliminating kitchens in all units to maximize bed counts and create new common shared kitchens.
